Real, long-running (since 1993) family farm near Scamander, TAS, still operating as of Jan 2026 (owner Denis Buchanan actively blogging and replying to comments). However, several signals suggest the operation is much reduced from its heyday and the discovery note's PYO fruit description (lifted largely from older/syndicated tourism-directory copy) may be stale: (1) the farm has been explicitly FOR SALE since a Jan 2025 blog post, with the aging owners describing a deliberately scaled-back operation; (2) the current homepage says 'the shop is no longer opened regularly'; (3) the farm's most recent fruit content (blackcurrants, Jan 2026) describes fruit as hand-picked BY THE FARM for express-post/shop sale, not customer self-pick; (4) a Facebook commenter asked in 2025 whether raspberries were available for picking and received no reply; (5) TripAdvisor flags the location as 'reported permanently closed' with no reviews since Jan 2020 (this likely refers to the old cafe/attraction listing rather than the whole business, since the farm's own blog and Facebook are demonstrably still active into 2026, but it is a real caution flag). The one concretely confirmed current PYO offering, from the farm's own Facebook page (2 Aug 2025), is PYO jonquils (flowers) on Sundays, 10am-2pm, $5 for 10 stems. Recommend listing with status flagged as unconfirmed/thin and a note to call ahead (03 6372 5500) before visiting, especially to check whether fruit picking (as opposed to jonquils) is currently offered to the public.
