But a working farm at Plumpton, Beveridge, Officer or Bangholme is in none of those districts, and putting it in the nearest one would send people to the wrong place.
That is not a hypothetical. One of the farms listed here trades as "Dandenong Christmas Tree Farm" and is actually at Officer, about 25km from the Dandenong Ranges. Filing it by its name rather than its address would be exactly the kind of near-enough that costs someone an afternoon.
Because this ring is wide, each listing carries its own distance from the city instead of a single figure for the region.

It varies, which is why each listing shows its own distance. Bangholme is about 30km south-east of the city. Plumpton is around 35km north-west, out past Melton. Beveridge is about 45km north on the Hume corridor. Officer is roughly 50km south-east in Cardinia Shire. Check the individual farm before planning the drive.
Because those are real districts with their own growing conditions and their own pages, and none of these farms is in them. A farm at Plumpton has nothing to do with the Yarra Valley beyond both being near Melbourne. Listing it there would make the district page less accurate and would misdirect visitors.
