Pick your own fruit farms in Western Australia

Swan Valley strawberries typically run August to December, Perth Hills cherries are a short late-November to December window, and Perth Hills apples stretch from January right through to July, so apples are usually the pick in the middle of winter. The South West adds blueberries around October to January and truffles in winter. Always check with the farm first.

Some Perth Hills orchards, including The Fruit Corner, ask visitors to book ahead or check opening days, while several Swan Valley strawberry farms operate on a casual walk-in basis, especially on weekends. Swan Valley is the go-to area, with farms around Wanneroo, Gnangara and Carabooda such as Ti Strawberry Farm, Kien's Strawberry Farm and Aida Strawberry Farm typically open from around August through to early summer. The South West around Donnybrook and Manjimup grows apples typically from March to May, plus blueberries around Margaret River from about December to February. The Manjimup and Pemberton area also has more unusual picking, including chestnuts in autumn and truffles through winter at farms like Truffle Hill. It's a longer drive from Perth, so plan for a couple of hours each way.

Pricing varies by crop and farm. Swan Valley strawberry farms typically charge $10–$20 per box (roughly 3 kg) with cash only — Ti Strawberry Farm has charged around $10 per tray, H&N Strawberries around $15 per box, and Minh Tran's Strawberry Farm $20 pick-your-own. At Perth Hills orchards, The Fruit Corner charges around $5 adult entry plus per-kilo produce pricing (Granny Smith apples have been listed around $1/kg, Pink Lady around $2/kg). Uncle Tom's Orchard in Donnybrook has listed Pink Lady at $2.50/kg and Granny Smith at $3.00/kg. Mangoes at Perth Mango Farm have run $15/kg, with entry around $10 for adults. Blueberries at Lorien Blueberries near Margaret River have been listed at $25/kg. These are reported figures — prices change each season, so always confirm directly with the farm before visiting.
