The dry season, roughly May to October, is the visitor season across the Top End — the wet season brings heat, humidity and flooding that can close roads and properties. Always confirm the season and access with the operator before you travel.
They're spread widely — Adelaide River is about an hour south of Darwin, Katherine around three hours, and Bullo River in the Victoria River district much further west near the WA border. Distances are large, so plan your route and fuel carefully.
