New South Wales carries 56 farm tour listings, the largest set in the country, and they are unusually varied. South Australia's 23 listings split neatly into three districts. The Adelaide Hills is the densest, with Jurlique Farm at Mylor walking visitors through herb and flower propagation and biodynamic growing, and Hahndorf Flower Farm offering a self-guided educational tour alongside floral-design workshops. Western Australia's 17 listings are pulled towards two very different corners. The ACT has just three farm tour listings, and two of them are truffles — which tells you something about what the Canberra district does well. The Truffle Farm Canberra at Majura runs guided hunts with trained dogs alongside production interpretation, and Beltana Farm at Pialligo builds a winter program of hunts, masterclasses and long lunches. The third, Canberra City Farm at Fyshwick, is a different animal entirely: an urban food-growing site running workshops, working bees and community events. Worth knowing that the Southern Tablelands truffières listed under New South Wales are within easy driving distance.

The Northern Territory's six listings are pastoral rather than horticultural, and most are bundled into a stay rather than sold as a standalone ticket. Curtin Springs Station Experiences gives guided access across a million-acre cattle station and teaches paper-making from native grasses. Kings Creek Station runs small-group buggy tours over private station trails, and Finniss River Lodge south of Darwin includes buggy trips through cattle country in its all-inclusive rates. These are long-distance destinations built around the dry months, so confirm access and dates well before you commit to the drive.
