Kookootonga Chestnut & Walnut Farm at Mount Irvine offers pick-your-own chestnuts and walnuts through autumn (mid-March to late April) in normal years. The only access road (Mount Wilson Road) has been closed to general traffic since April 2026 for safety works, with Blue Mountains Council currently expecting reopening in 2027, so the farm gate is closed for the 2026 season. Ring ahead before planning a visit; Kookootonga walnuts are still stocked at The Hive in Bilpin.
247 Mount Irvine Road, Mount Irvine NSW 2786. About 90 minutes north-west of Sydney.
Bring a hat, closed shoes, water and cash or a card for what you pick. Rows can be uneven underfoot, so a pram may be harder going in wet weather. This farm is listed as suitable for children.
