A pick-your-own orchard on Race Creek Road at Wombat, ten minutes from Young, offering cherries from November to December with the peak in December, plus strawberries, figs in February, persimmons in April and plums. The shed also sells pre-picked fruit, honey and jams. The same property also trades as Wombat Heights Orchard and The Grog Shed, run by Stephen and Kerry Eastlake. Hours and booking requirements vary, so ring before you go.
