In September, strawberries, sunflowers and flowers are picking in Sunshine Coast. We list 6 farms across this region — browse the listings below and call ahead to confirm what's ripe before you travel.
The pick-your-own farms in the hinterland between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast proper sit roughly 45 to 75 minutes from the Brisbane CBD, clustered around Glass House Mountains, Elimbah and Wamuran. Strawberries are the mainstay and, as with the rest of South East Queensland, they're a winter crop: Rolin Strawberry Farms at Elimbah picks from June to mid-November, and Glass House Tropical Fruits runs from May or June through to November with a peak in August and September. The same Glass House Mountains farm also grows sunflowers and is planting its first lychee trees. Further south at Narangba, The Longan Farm opens on selected autumn weekends for longan picking, and Sunflower Sue's at Wamuran runs a short sunflower season in early spring. Confirm opening days by phone, as several of these farms are small operations with irregular hours.

The Longan Farm at Narangba opens on selected weekends in March and April for pick-your-own longans, priced at around $10/kg plus a small entry fee. Glass House Tropical Fruits also grows sunflowers alongside its strawberries. Bloom windows are brief and weather-dependent, so check the farm's socials for confirmed open days before heading out.
Winter, from June through to September, is the main season here, when strawberries at Rolin and Glass House Tropical Fruits are at their peak alongside the tail end of longan picking in autumn. Strawberry picking at Glass House Tropical Fruits was around $15 per 500g at the start of the 2026 season, expected to ease toward normal market rates as the season goes on. Longans at Narangba cost about $10/kg plus a $1 entry fee, and sunflower picking at Wamuran is $15 cash entry for seven stems. Prices shift through the season, so confirm when you call.
