Hobart & the Huon Valley

Established family-run walnut orchard (since 1997) on Prossers Rd near Richmond, Coal Valley, TAS. Confirmed genuine pick-your-own via the farm's own site: public collects fresh walnuts from the orchard (mostly windfall on the ground, some hand-picked or shaken from trees) at a reduced per-kilo rate during a ticketed 3-day event each May; entry requires a pre-booked timeslot ticket. Farm is explicitly NOT open to the public outside this annual event ('we are a working farm and are not generally open to the public for sales'). Food vendors (coffee, muffins, ice cream) attend during the event only, not a permanent on-site cafe, hence cafe_onsite left null. No overlap with any other Richmond-area listing already in the database (Littlewood Berry Farm = berries; Richmond Peonies & Cherries = peonies/cherries) - distinct business and crop.

Farm experiences

Beyond picking, Coaldale Walnuts offers hands-on farm experiences. Each runs on its own schedule and availability can change, so check with the farm before you travel.
